Solomon Ferry, born at Springfield, Mass., 31 July 1686, died at Danbury, Conn,, shortly before 5 Mar. 1771 (date of administration on estate); married first, probably at New Haven, Conn, (recorded at Springfield), 7 Feb. 1704/5, Lydia Peck, born presumably at New Haven about 1663, and baptized there (with five brothers and sisters) 12 Sept. 1686, daughter of Benjamin and Mary (Sperry) Peck. She died, presumably at Danbury, after 1730 and prior to 14. June 1757, on which date Solomon married second, at Newtown, Conn., Christian (Gunn) Botsford, born at Milford, Conn., 3 Aug. 1677, daughter of Jobamah and Sarah (Lane) Gunn, and widow of Henry3 Botsford (born at Milford, 12 Sept. 1676, died at Newtown, about Oct. 1747), whom she married 12 Nov. 1700, and widow also as we suppose of John Smith (born at Milford, 20 July 1674, died at Derby, Conn., 31 May 1749), to whom she was married 13 Oct. 1748. Although the Newtown church records designate her Widow Christian Botsford when she married Solomon Ferry, the Smith interlude lasted but seven months and she had returned to her Botsford children in Newtown. Probably the dauntless widow of eighty did not long survive her third matrimonial venture, for Solomon married third, Mary ——.
