About Sonia "Jenny" Dwyer
Sonia's sister was taken by Cossacks in 1919 and never seen again. Sonia was orphaned when both parents were killed She immigrated to the US around 1920, living with Aunt Leah Benjamin and Uncle Isaac in New York. Her immigration papers were as accurate as she could make them, but she had difficulty with the English spellings. Sonia was also called "Jenny" by her aunts, uncles and cousins.
In 1921, Sonia married Meyer Rosen. Their son, Seymour was born in December of 1924. Meyer was killed in an accident, when Seymour was just nine months old.
In 1927, Sonia married Harry Dwyer. Sonia and Harry had 4 children and many grandchildren.
