About Sophie Dellar Krause

The Sunday Oregonian, June 27, 1915

A pretty home wedding was solemnized last Sunday whenMiss Sophie Dellar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Dellar, became the bride of Albert L. Krause. The ceremony took place in the home of the bride's parents, on Northrup Street, in the presence of about 150 relatives and friends.

In the living-room, under a canopy, the background of which was a bower of roses, and a solid mass of greens. Rev. Dr. Abrahamson read the service. At the first strains of the wedding march, the bridal party entered the living-room where the guests were assembled. First came Melvin Dellar, the S-year-old nephew of the bride, acting as ring bearer. The Misses Alice and Sarah Dellar, sisters of the bride, were flower girls. Miss Rae Dellar. who has been attending the University of Washington, returned in time to attend her sister’s wedding, and acted as maid of honor. She was beautifully gowned in yellow taffeta and carried a bouquet of pink rosebuds.

Mr. Leonard Krause was his brother's best man. Then came the bride entering with her father. She was radiantly beautiful. Her long, filmy veil falling to the hem of her train was held in place by a Juliet cap of pearls and orange blossoms. Her robe was of duchess satin, with a jacket effect and court train of real lace. A pearl and sapphire pin, a gift of the bridegroom, was the only Jewel ornament worn. The bride's bouquet was of lilies-of-the-valley and bride roses arranged in a graceful shower.

The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. L. Krause. was distinguished in an elegant black satin gown with a train of real lace. Mrs. John Dellar wore an old-rose satin gown with an over tunic and train of jet beads.

After the ceremony, a short reception was held, during which the happy young couple were showered with congratulations. Later dinner was served in the dining-hall. which was beautifully decorated with greens sprinkled with roses, all aglow under myriads of colored incandescent lights. Dancing concluded the evening.

The young couple will spend their honeymoon at North Beach, Washington. At the end of the Summer they will return to Portland.
