Sophie Rokoszak, 82, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Shore Meadows Care Center, Toms River. Sophie was born and raised in Jersey City before settling in Jackson 45 years ago. Sophie worked for the Harris & Marlow Company, Lakewood as an assembler for many years. Sophie was a communicant and member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jackson. In addition, Sophie was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6201 Auxiliary, Jackson, the V.F.W. Post 4703 Ladies Auxiliary, Jackson, the Jackson Kimball Auxiliary & Kimball Closet, the "Glamorettes Bowling League of Howell" and the Jackson Seniors Who Care.

Sophie was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Rose Rodack; and her husband, Walter J. Rokoszak, in 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Rokoszak Zengel of Jackson; her sister, Helen Lutz of North Arlington; her brother, Stephen Rodack of Lyndhurst; her grandchildren, Stephen Zengel of Hampton, Va., and Denise Harkness of Manasquan; and her great-grandchildren, Morgan, Madison, Christopher, and William.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday, May 22 at the George S. Hassler Funeral Home, 980 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson. Her Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson. A private cremation will follow.
