About Stanley Peter Wielinski
Stanley Wielinski, age 89, a resident of Little Falls, Minnesota, died September 23, 2000, at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls.
Mass of Christian Burial was held September 27 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Alan Wielinski and Father Leroy Kremer concelebrating. Burial was in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Cemetery in Little Falls.
Stanley was born July 30, 1911, to Simon and Anna (Rutz) Wielinski in Little Falls. He graduated from Little Falls High School and the St. Cloud Business College. Following college, he worked for Minnesota Power & Light Company and then the Little Falls Hatchery. He was united in marriage to Celia Richter on August 20, 1935, in Little Falls. In 1961 he started working for the Little Falls Machine Company and retired in 1975. In 1973 Celia died. Stanley later married Alvina Gaida in 1976. He was active in the Little Falls community for 70 years. He was also active in Our Lady of Lourdes Choir since 1926 and received the Bishops Medal of Merit in 1973 from the Diocese of St. Cloud for service to Our Lady of Lourdes Church and the Diocese. He was a school board member from 1942-1972. He received the Outstanding School Board Member of Minnesota Award in 1972 from the Minnesota School Board Association. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1804 and Grand Knight from 1965-1967. Stanley was a member of Little Falls Lions Club for 35 years (District Governor from 1980-1981) receiving the International Presidents Award in 1992 and a Melvin Jones Fellowship. He was a lover of baseball and was very active in amateur baseball for 35 years. Appropriately, Stan died while watching his beloved Yankees on TV. Memorials are preferred to Little Falls Lions Club.
Stanley is survived by three sons, Stan and his wife Dolores of Perham, Minnesota, Tom and his wife Glenda of New Brighton, Minnesota, and Ken and his wife Donna of Falcon Heights, Minnesota; six Grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Celia Richter Wielinski; second wife, Alvina Gaida Wielinski; seven brothers; and five sisters.
