Stephen j3) Barker(Stephenl2)Rich.(1) and wife, Mary Frye of Methuen

Stephen (4), b. in Chelmsford, April 19, 1719;d. Nov. 16,1785;buried in
Berkley St. Yard; was a Capt.; lawyer, etc., rather sporty; married
March 9, 1784,Abigail Swan; he was published in 1750 to Deborah
Poor. The will of Stephen, dated June 23,1785 was to be void if
Martha (1) bear him a son. He had an illeg.son,Stephen, b. unknown,
by Ruth Wardwell, dau. ot Joshua Wardwell and w. Ruth Sanders, b.
in Andover; the son was called "Shad" Barker as he controlled the
fishing interest on a part of the Merrimac- a worthy man. Evidence
favors fact of Stephen having more children of same kind.

Stephen (3), b. June 26,1688; d. Aug. 7, 1750 in Methuen; m. Mary Frye,
about 1715; probably the daughter of Sam(2) Frye and wife,Mary(2)
Aslebe, b. 1677; she m. 1st, Joshua Stevens son of John (2) )
who was drowned in the Merrimac, 1712; they lived awhile in Chelmsford here he was probably a trader; sold 1719; returned to Methuen and lived there until death.
Zebediah (3), b. Feb. 2, 1690; husbandman; school-teacher;selectman; m.
Elizabeth Lovejoy, Dec. 30, 1717; she was dau. of Christopher Love
joy and w. Sarah Russe,of Andover; lived in Methuen.
Nehemiah (3), b. Feb.17, 1692; m. Mary Waters,Nov.l,1716; he was a mariner
of Salem,where he lived,1727.
Lydia (3), b. Jan. 28, 1694.
Mary (3), b. March 29,1696; d. Feb. 4,1704.
James (3), b. Aug. 24,1700; m. Sept. 11, 1727, Maria Bixby; d. in Methuen.
Aug. 9, 1740; she m. 2nd.,Joseph Morse,Nov.6,1753; he d. 1756; she
m. 3rd., John Stevens of Andover, husbandman.
Mary (3), b. Oct. 9, 1704; d. April 16, 1725
Timothy (3), b. about 1707; d. May 28,1707.
Ebenezer(3), b.1709; d. Mar. 26,1771 m. Abigail Morse, Dec.21, 1730;
he was a teacher and J.P.; was either suicide or drowned in Merrimac River,; She d. Dec 24,1772 at 67."
