Stephen was born about 1628 (he testified that he was aged 44 years on 8 January 1672[1]) No record of where he was born has been found. He came to Watertown in the Massachusetts Bay Colony before 1650.

He was most likely the son of the widow Elizabeth Randall, who died in Watertown on 24 Dec 1672, at age 80.[2] Elizabeth was the alleged widow of John Randall.[3]

His w. had d. 14 May 1673. He was prob. younger br. of (4657i) Stephen, and d. 16 June 1680. Suanna m. (2329i[1]) Enoch Sawtell."

Stephen married Susan Barron at Watertown in the Massachusetts Bay Colony on 14:10m:1653,[4] which is December because March was the first month of the Julian calendar in use until1752, not October as recorded by FamilySearch.[5] Susan was the daughter of Ellis Barron and his first wife, Grace. Susanna may have been born in Waterford, Ireland, about 1630.

Stephen and Susanna were the parents of:

1. Elizabeth Randall, oldest daughter, married — Codman;[2]
2. Mary Randall, born on 23 June 1662 at Watertown,[6] married Abraham Chamberlain of Brookline on 28 February 1698;[3]
3. Steven Randall, born 20 August 1665 at Watertown,[7] [8] may have died before 1698 as he is not mentioned in his father's will.
4. Susanna Randall,[3] who married William Shattuck, son of William and Susanna Shattuck;[9]

Stephen died on 26 Feb 1707/8 at Watertown.[10] The date of death of his wife, Susanna, is unknown.[11]

The will of Stephen Randall, dated 13 January 1697-8, proved 10 April 1708, mentions his three daughters: oldest daughter Elizabeth Codman, Susanna Shattuck and Mary Randall.
