What really catches my attention is the number of wives, that noone seems to know much about. I had been aware of only one wife, up until 2011 while doing my last check on Stinson and his family. I see there are now 2 entries of unknown for wives of this man. I was aware he moved to GA, with his siblings George, John and Nancy. By 27 Jan 1818 he married Sincy Jane Hart, in Morgan Co. GA. She was born about 1790 in NC. By about 1820 the couple moved to Tuscaloosa Co. AL, when Samuel, John and Nancy moved there. It is not known how long their stay was, but Sincy and Stenson moved to Coweta Co. GA. They were found on the 1850 census there. They both died in GA and were buried in the Bethlehem Cem. in Coweta Co. As for the extra wives, I must say I am far from convinced. The only children I feel sure about are the ones who appeared on the 1850 Coweta GA census, and a few more. Listed were Rebecca age 19, Edmund 20, G W 17, John N 15 (another interesting thing about John is that the census stated he was deaf), Andrew J 14. There was a Betsy A B Kilgore 20 and Susan A J Kilgore. My guess is that Betsy A B was a daughter who married a Kilgore and Susan belonged to that couple. The next census, in fact all that I will comment on were all found in Coweta, GA. In 1860 Stinson did not appear having died in 1857. Jane for that year was living with Patrick Adcock and his wife, Elinder. They were the 3 in the household. Jane was 62 born in NC. In the year 1860 numerous other young families that I think connected to Stinson and Jane (She obviously used Jane and not Cincy--who could blame her? Living nearby was George W age 28 and his wife Mary A 24. They had 3 children Madora E 5, Thomas W 3 and Wlliam M N age 1. George W was listed on the first census as G W, so he was definitely a son. Also living nearby in 1860 was John N the son who was described as deaf on the 1st census of 1850. His wife's name was Melissa age 24 and they had a son Francis M 3 and Rebecca E was !. By 1870 surpriningly Jane was listed as head of household. Living with her was a woman named Ellen age 40, and 3 children James G age 9, John S 8 and Flora F was 5. It is hard to be sure but I think Ellen was probably the wife of one of Jane's sons. They carried the name Adcock. 1880 was the end of Jane on a census. By then she was 85, and Ellen was still with her, but on this census Ellen was the head of household. Flora F was age 15 and Julia was 11. This is all I found for Sincy Jane Hart Adcock.
