1784 - 1805 H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan 'Ali 'Ala ud-din Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja Kamboja [Raja Ali I], Yang di-Pertuan Muda of Riau. b. at Teluk Pedada off the Perak coast, 1770, third son of Daing Kamboja bin Opu Daing Parani, Yang di-Pertuan Muda of Riau, by his second wife, Daing Uteh, 'Ungku Tua. Succeeded on the death of his cousin, 19th June 1784. Installed by the Sultan of Johor as Viceroy (Yang di-Pertuan Muda) at Riau with the personal title of Paduka Sri Sultan 'Ali 'Ala ud-din Shah, August 1784. Accepted Dutch protection 10th November 1784. m. (first) at Selangor, 1769 (div. ca. 1780), H.H. Raja Penuh binti al-Marhum Sultan Saleh ud-din, Tengku Besar (m. third, at Selangor, July 1780, Arung To' Mojong of Bone), former wife of Y.M. Raja 'Abdu'llah of Kedah, and eldest daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Saleh ud-din Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja Chelak, Sultan of Selangor, by his first wife, a younger daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan 'Ala ud-din Ri'ayat Shah bin Daing Rilaga, Yang di-Pertuan Muda of Riau. m. (second) at Mempawah, 1784, H.H. Utin Salama, Tengku Ampuan, eldest daughter of his cousin, Gusti Sina, Pangeran Jaya Putra, of Mampawa. He d. on Bayan Island, 1805, having had issue, ten sons and eight daughters
