John Henry Logan was a teacher, historian, and physician.
He was born in Abbeville, South Carolina and first practiced medicine and taught school in this region before publishing his History of Upper South Carolina in 1859. He served as a Confederate army surgeon and afterwards taught at Atlanta Medical College.
