from Jean Blackmon
”John Watson died in Henrico County, Va. about 1750 and left two daughters under 21-Susanna and Elizabeth; a widow Martha Hinds Watson; and a step-daughter Mary Watson Hinds, who was born October 23, 1744. (This birthdate information came from Susanna Allen Burton's family Bible which was published in "VA Family Bibles.") John Watson's will can be found in abstract form on page 40-41 of Benjamin B. Weisiger III's book entitled "Colonial Wills of Henrico County, VA, Part Two 1737-1781." In John Watson's will, Susanna Watson got a nice inheritance of 400 acres next to Robert Sharp, called "Samsons" and personal property.
Nathaniel Bacon was the guardian for Susannah and Elizabeth Watson in 1760 court in Henrico County. (page 63, same book) In 1764 John Ware was their guardian. (page 69 same book) Susanna married in Amherst, Robert Bolling, born August 17, 1738, a well-to-do fellow, and they lived in Buckingham county. They, along with John Watson's widow Martha (who married thirdly Elisha Miller, and became a widow for the third time) sold their inheritance from John Watson to Thomas Prosser in Henrico County. (Henrico Deeds 1771 or 1772 at courthouse) This included the 541 acres of land that John Watson bought in 1716, left to his widow in his will, and that fact made this land traceable.) Robert Bolling died in 1775. His first wife had been Mary Burton. (Records of Buckingham County by Whitley.)”
