Caleb Heath was born in 1704 in Haverhill, son of John Heath and Frances Hutchins.[1]

On 26 March 1730, Caleb married Susanna Emerson.[2][3] She was also of Haverhill, the daughter of Benjamin Emerson and Sarah Silver.

Caleb and Susanna had the following children, all baptized in Haverhill, Massachusetts:[4]

  1. Priscilla, b. 7 Mar. 1732/33
  2. Caleb, bpt. 30 Mar. 1735
  3. Joshua, bpt. 9 Jan. 1736/37
  4. Benjamin, bpt. 21 May 1738
  5. Jonathan, bpt. 25 Jan. 1740/41
  6. Joshua, bpt. 28 July 1742
  7. Ezekial, bpt. 21 July 1744, and
  8. Susanna, bpt. 13 July 1746.

Caleb and his brothers were early settlers of this land, well before it became Hampstead officially. The following reference states that "three families of the name of Ford, Heath and Emerson, moved into the place about the year 1728".[5] The same reference states "Robert Ford, Sr., one of the largest land owners in the southwestern part of Timberlane, sold tracts to William, Caleb, Benjamin and Nathaniel Heath, sons of John and Frances (Hutchens) Heath of Haverhill, in 1730, who took immediate possession".[6] Caleb was one of the citizens that signed a petition to the authorities in 1744, asking for jurisdiction of this area be clarified, and this is what eventually led to the formation of Hampstead in 1749.[7]

Susannah lost her husband when Caleb died in Hampstead, NH in 1753.[8]

She re-married on 16 Jan. 1755, with John Kezar.[9] The marriage record notates her as a widow. John Kezer or Keezer died in 1760.
