About Susanna Maria Rossouw, b3c3d2e9
Adres ten tye van haar huwelik: Rietrivier.
Hester (Rossouw) Scholtz
According to family tradition Susanna Maria and her husband went to visit their children that stayed on the farm Zoutpan 1238 in the Waterberg district. They travelled by oxwagon from Leeudoringstad/Makwassie. Their last outspan was on the farm Grootfontein, not far from the Zoutpan. It was raining with a thunderstorm. They were in the wagon tent when she told her husband to light a candle, so that God could not visit them in the dark. She was struck by lightning and died. When the wagons arrived at the Zoutpan the next day everybody could see something was wrong. The wagon was covered with a black sail. She was buried on the Zoutpan.
