About Susannah Barker
- Updated from MyHeritage Family Trees via son Hereziah George Sebastian Barker by SmartCopy: Jul 28 2015, 10:54:11 UTC
Daughter of Benjamin Sebastian and Amelia Broadwater.
Married Hezekiah Barker, Sr.
In 1825 after the sale of 497 1/2 acres on Roaring River in Wilkes Co, NC, Susannah Sebastian Barker and most of her sons removed to Monroe Co, TN and lived there for a short time before moving to Lawrence Co, KY, where Susannah and sons, John, Solomon, and Hardin appear on the early tax lists of 1827. Lewis Barker remained in Wilkes Co, NC and married and had a family there.
Susannah had a child prior to marrying Hezekiah Barker.
The child's name was Hezekiah G. Sebastian born November 19, 1786 probably in Wilkes County, NC.
This Hezekiah G. Sebastian aka Hezekiah Barker for the reason as mentioned in his pension record that his stepfather (Hezekiah Barker) had raised him from a child.
Hezekiah Sebastian served in the War of 1812 under the name of Hezekiah Sebastian as he received a pension.
Hezekiah G. Sebastian aka Hezekiah Barker died February 9, 1860 in Morgan County, Kentucky and is buried in the Pomeroyton Union Cemetery in Menifee County, Kentucky.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Dec 13 2022, 15:12:15 UTC
