Sybell Smith

Robert Smith (or Smyth) and Sybell Ryle

The most ancient Smith (some records show Smyth) in the current family records is Robert Smith (direct ancestor), born in 1513 or 1539 in Stanilance, Wilmslow, Cheshire, England, and on August 7, 1590 he died and was buried in Stanilance, Wilmslow. On November 28, 1563 in Wilmslow he married Sybell Ryle, born in 1541 or 1543 in Styall,(or Stiall) in the parish of Wilmslow, (daughter of John Ryle, born 1520); on February 4, 1604/05 Sybell Ryle died and was buried in Wilmslow.

Robert Smith and Sybell Ryle had three children:

• (1) Randle (or Rondle) Smith (born and christened on May 28, 1565 in Wilmslow and christened on the same day);
• (2) John Smith (born circa 1565 in Wilmslow); and
• (3) Richard Smith (born in 1573 in Stockport and christened on July 17, 1573 in Wilmslow, Stockport, Cheshire).
