Syeda Begum, was married to Syed Husain Zaheer, 21 March 1931. They went off to Europe a few months later, by ship called PILSINAR a P&O liner and had along tour of Europe,Syeda Begum had never before been to Europe and my, Selma's childhood was full of the stories she told us about her trip.
Syeda was happy in Wazir Manzil. Her father in law, Sir Wazir Hasan loved her and treated as a favourite.
She lost her parents when she was in her early teens. Her mothers brother Sir Akeel Jung Bhadur. bTook her under his wing . Once her sisters and brother were married he moved her to live with him in (a house that still exists, near the Governers present residence) The name of the house was " Umeed Manzil" I think she was living there till she got married.
I will add details as I recall them.
Ofcourse her life changed after Syed Wazir Ali Zaheer passed away in a 1 May 1959 punting accident in Oxford.
