"The evidence I have is a will abstract from the Rhode Island Genealogical Register, vol. 10, p. 289:

Herringshaw's Encyclopedia of American Biography of the Nineteenth Century. page 909

Will of Sylvester Sweet, yeoman, advanced in life, dated 7 Mar 1804, proved, East Greenwich 25 Jan 1806, mentions wife Dorcas Sweet who received furniture she brought at time of our marriage, sons James Sweet, Samuel Sweet, Thomas Sweet, Sylvester Sweet, dec., and Elisha Sweet, daughters Tabitha Sweet, Lydia Johnson wife of John Johnson, Almy Vaughn wife of Amos Vaughn, Wait Wightman wife of George Wightman, Mary Tillinghast wife of Charles Tillinghast, Sarah Sleid wife of William Sleid and Susannah Sleid wife of Charles Sleid, and grandson Luther Sweet, son of Sylvester Sweet, deceased. The will itself is supposedly in book 5, page 76, but I have not obtained a copy. If anyone has it, I would greatly appreciate a copy. John Chandler once said that he had notes that the above is in vol 2 p 29 of the RI Gen. Reg."
