Sylvester Thomas

SYLVESTER THOMAS, born January 5, 1901, deceased this life July 12, 1967 at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 7 days. He was the son of JOHN HENRY THOMAS and MINDA THOMAS.

He was married to ELLEN (FOSTER) THOMAS in the year of 1926, and to this union was born 6 Children, 2 Sons and 4 Daughters. His Wife and 2 Daughters, proceeded him in death. He was later married to ALICE MAY (BUTLER) THOMAS in the year of 1936.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his Wife, ALICE MAY THOMAS; Daughters, Mrs. EARNEST RICH, Mrs. JOHN ALFORD SMITH, all of Oneida; Sons, SILAS THOMAS, and JAMES HILLERY THOMAS, both of Covington Ky.; 3 Sisters, Mrs. Cordelia Thomas Cecil,Pine Knot, Ky., Mrs. LIZZIE DAVIDSON and Mrs. RILDA BURKS, both of Oneida; 2 Brothers, ISAAC THOMAS, Decatur, Tenn., JAMES THOMAS of Oneida; 3 Half Brothers: GABRIEL THOMAS, Lenior City, Tenn, AARON THOMAS of Coos Bay, Oregon, and CLEOPHIA THOMAS of Myrtle Creek, Oregon; 20 Grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. He professed a hope in Christ and joined the Pentecost Baptist Church, September 3, 1939, where he remained a member unto the end. We feel our loss here is Heaven's gain.
