Tabitha Marbury was first married to James Hoye, with whom she had one son, Paul Hoye (1736-1816). James passed away in 1737,[1] and in 1738 she married neighbor William Deakins, Sr. with whom she had three children:

  • Francis born 1739, died 1804; married Eleanor Threlkeld
  • William born 1742, died 1798; married Jane Johns
  • Leonard born 1747, died 1824; married Deborah Duke

William Deakins, Sr. died in 1800. [2]

Tabitha is mentioned in the will of her father Francis Marbury which was signed and probated in 1734, although she is not listed in the Maryland records of births for Francis Mabury. Online film. Francis Marbury's will was signed 1 Jan 1734 and probated on 22 Jan 1734. [3] [4] His will, as referenced above, left his property to his children as follows:

  • To Leonard: Personalty, part of residue of lands; to Leonard and heirs: lands in Akakeek
  • To Mary Ann: Personalty and the property, "Schoolhouse" and adjoining lands
  • To Susannah: Personalty
  • To Barbara Frazer: Personalty
  • To Luke: Personalty and part of residue of lands
  • To Lucy Hatton: Personalty
  • To James Young and heirs: 50 acres and "Littleworth"
  • To Ann: The property, "Mistake"
  • To Elizabeth Davidson and heirs: 90 acres & "Appledore"
  • To Tabitha Hoye: the property, "Tewksbury" and 65 acres of the adjoining property, "Applebill"
