A distant cousin and I have been working together to prove information about Tabitha. My cousin is a grand-daughter of
Tabitha Sullivan and Henry Morehead, and I am a grandson of Tabitha Sullivan and William Huckleberry (her second marriage which took place in Illinois). We have been trying to prove that Tabitha was the daughter of Uriah Sullivan (the senior) and a Winifred (surname unknown) and specific death dates for Uriah and Winnifred. We know Winnifred appeared in the 1830 Federal census of Muhlenberg County, but don't know what happened to her.

We believed that Tabitha was the sister of Raleigh and Uriah (the younger), but didn't have any documentation (I am a stickler for proving persons through formal documentation). It appears that you have proven the information for us, for which I and my cousin are/will be very grateful.

If you mean the Page on Raleigh is the one from the Kentucky Genealogy and Biography, we do have that document, but appreciate the offer all the same.

Do you know if your Tabitha was related to Raleigh (Rolley) Sullivan? He married Lucy Nall, 14 Apr 1834, in Muhlenberg County. Rolley was the son of Uriah Sullivan who died in 1816. "Uriah came to Kentucky in 1810, first settling in Christian County, KY and five months later came to Muhlenburgh (sic) County and settled on Green River, on a farm of 200 acres . . ." Source for this information is "Kentucky Genealogy and Biography," Vol. III, from Battle, Perrin and Kniffin. (Correct spelling of our county is Muhlenberg.)

From "Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, Abstracts of Wills and Administrations" by Marian Hammers, verifying Uriah's death in the county: Book II, p. 372. Uriah Sullivan, deceased, an account by Richard Webb, administrator. Approved Oct County Court 1826. More on Uriah's estate settlement should you find he is related.

James Hogland sold to Uriah Sullivan, Simeon Everly and Jane his wife, Nancy Sullivan, Rauliegh (sic) Sullivan, Tabitha Sullivan and Uriah Sullivan, heirs of Uriah Sullivan, all of Muhlenberg County, KY for $300, 100 acres on Cypress. Tract 2 containing 30 acres adjoining the 50 acres bequeathed by widow of Thomas Cooley to Jacob Matthews. Signed James Hogland.

Further Deed Book 7, p. 130. 26 Oct 1829. "William Kincheloe sold to Raleigh Sullivan, Tabitha Sullivan and Uriah Sullivan, infant heirs of Uriah Sullivan, deceased, all of Muhlenberg County, KY, for $1, 3/5 of 73 acres being undivided part of 115 acres an undivided mority (sic) of 230 acres sold to John McFarland to Uriah Sullivan. The 73 acres bought by Kincheloe a Sheriff's sale. Deeded to Samuel Bell, Deputy Sheriff, for Jesse Jackson, Sheriff of Muhlenberg County. Signed William Kincheloe.
From this I think it is fairly safe to say that Tabith was the d/o Uriah Sullivan, Sr., at least an heir; then,

Rolla Sullivan bought from Henry Morehead with Uriah Sullivan, both of Muhlenberg County, KY, for $100, their interest in estate of Uriah Sullivan, deceased. Tabith, formerly Sullivan, wife of Henry Morehead and Uriah Sullivan inherit land by kinship to deceased. Signed: Uriah Sullivan and Henry Morehead. Witnesses John Blain and William Bates.
