Teodora de Victoria, also known as Teodora Sayo, was the fifth of nine children of Francisco Victorio and Dionicia Sayo. She was baptized by Bernardo Morillejo, and her godmother at the time of her baptism was María Sayo. As early as early 1830’s, she took her maternal family name and omitted her paternal family name before Governor-General of the Philippines Narciso Clavería issued a decree pertaining to standard naming convention in 1849. It is uncertain if her marriage with Eleno Caralde ended in her death or annulment.
