Teodosio Causing

Teodosio Causing was originally from Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, he went to the Bantayan Island, Cebu and married there. After a quarrel with his wife, he left the Bantayan Island and proceeded to Barili, Cebu. In Barili, he married again (daughter of Agustin Paras, who was a businessman from Angles Pangasinan. The marriage to (name unknown at this time), bore four childern (Claro, Pia, Demetria and one more daughter (unknown name).

The surname "Causing" (later Causin) might have been derived from Hokkien 九星 ("káu-seng") literally meaning "nine stars" or, in a more figurative sense, "many stars".
