Albert had two sons with his previous wife, but had no children with Thelma.
After Albert passed away in June, 1979 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, arrangements were made for Thelma to move near her son and his second family in Nederland, Texas. Thelma lived in Beaumont, Texas for about 10 years before she passed. She and Albert were finally laid to rest together in March 1991 at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
