Theodore Hood, an architect and engineer who helped design the United Nations headquarters, died Wednesday of a heart attack at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Manhattan. Mr. Hood, who was a resident of New York City, was 62 years old.
He had been with the architectural firm of Harrison & Abramovitz, and had his own firm, Architecture Design Engineering, in New York.
He collaborated in the design of various commercial buildings in the United States and overseas, including the United States Embassy in Rio de Janeiro.
He was born in Bucharest, Rumania, and studied at the Royal Rumanian Academy of Fine Arts and the Yale University School of Architecture, where he later taught.
He is survived by two sons, Gregory and Peter T., both of New York City.
