Againk, just slightly differing information: Thomas Bassett was born 1546 in Glamorgan, Wales... I don't know which is correct.
Married: Abt 1580 Died: After 1618, Miskin, Glamorgan, Wales
Research Notes:
Some sources give Thomas a birthyear of 1546; others, c.1559.

3rd son, named in his father's will
--------------------------
In Apr 1594, Thomas Basset, Mary his wife and William their son, owned 22 acres [in Sutton].
--------------------------
"Miskin is an exceptionally old name, the oldest form being Meyskin in the 13th century, so it has altered little over the seven hundred years or so. Originally the name referred to the commote or lordship which centred on Llantrisant and reached up to the border with Brecon. It seems clear that the first of the Bassetts built a mansion and called it “Miskin House” about 1600. He was Thomas Bassett, a grandson of William Bassett of Beupre near Cowbridge....
Why Thomas Bassett built his Miskin Mansion where he did was a bit of a mystery, but by 1642 his son William improved his modest estate and climbed the social ladder to become High Sheriff."
Marriage Information:
Thomas married Mary EVANS, daughter of Dafydd ap IEUAN of of Castell Nedd and Catrin VAUGHAN, about 1580. (Mary EVANS was buried on 2 Jun 1597 in Llantrithyd, Glamorgan, Wales.)
