About Thomas Bates Camp
Spent childhood in Ringold, GA. Served in the Confederacy on the Western & Atlantic RR. Operated trains over the battlegrounds of Johnston & Sherman. Was a wood-passer for Jeff Cain, engineer on the " General", which Yankees captured at Big Shanty. After the war he lived in Whitfield and Murray Counties, GA. He then moved to Bradley County, Arkansas, where he lived and was in the lumber business the remainder of his life.
