Thomas Eppes

Thomas Eppes was the son of Francis Epes and wife Marie. He was born in London, Middlesex, England in September 1630 and was baptized 8 Sep 1630 at St. Olave, Hart Street, London. He came to Virginia with his family before 1632. He married Elizabeth (?)

Thomas Eppes was referred to in a suit between John Sloman, Gent., and Capt John Eppes, Mr. Francis Eppes and Mr. Thomas Epes is mentioned, 27 Aug 1656, and on 3 Aug 1658. Thomas served as a justice, 4 Aug 1673, along with his brother Lt. Col. John Epes. He witnessed a document of Mrs. Jane Osborne on Nov. 1, 1676.

We know that he died before June, 1679 because Elizabeth Eppes, his widow, entered a petition in court on June 4, 1679, where it was ordered that she remain in possession of his estate until the next court to file her claims.
