From: Abstracts of Wills Vol V 1754-1760 Page 8.--In the name of God, Amen, December 24, 1759. I, THOMAS GOLDING,of North Castle, in Westchester County, being in health and sound mind.All debts and the charges of settling my estate are to be paid. My wifeMary is to have the use of all my lands and tenements where I now dwellin North Castle for her support and the keeping of my son Ephraim duringhis life, he being incapable to provide for himself. After the death ormarriage of my wife my dwelling house and lands adjoining are to be sold.If my wife permits any of her children to live in my dwelling house sheshall have her coice of the best room to live in, also 2 cows, a bed andfurniture, and 1 bed and furniture for my son Ephraim, and she shall have1/3 of the movables after payment of debts and legacies. I leave to myyoungest daughter, Lucretia Golding, œ10 and a bed and furniture. To myyoungest son, John Golding, œ20. My executors may sell all lands, exceptthe house and lands for my wife's use, to pay debts. After the death ofmy wife, all the estate is to be sold and proceeds divided among my foursons, Joseph, Benjamin, Coles, and John, and they are to take care of myson Ephraim. My son Benjamin being indebted to me in the sum of œ20, itis given to him. The rest of my movables I leave to my 4 daughters,Rosanah, wife of Edward Green, Mary, wife of Nehemiah Purdy, Rebecca,wife of Archibald Carpenter, and Lucretia. I make my wife Mary, and mysons, Joseph and Coles Golding, executors. Witnesses, William Burtis, William Daniel, laborer, John Carhartt,scrivener. Proved before John Bartow, Surrogate, February 19, 1760.
