Biographical Summary
"Thomas Hay of Huntington - Son of Alexander Hay, advocate, became a member of the bar 3d June 1725; and in March 1742 was appointed Keeper of the Signet, in the room of Alexander Macmillan, writer to the signet. He was nominated successor to John Pringle of Haining, as one of the Judges of the Court of Session, 8th October and took his seat 28th November 1754, by the title of Lord Huntington. He enjoyed that office for a very short period however, having died suddenly while sitting on the bench, on the 4th of February 1755, from whence his corpse was removed to his house in town, and interred on the 8th in the church yard of Haddington."
