Thomas Hucklescott

According to the following record, it would indicate that Mary Allen Hucklescott Muscoe was born c1666-1667:

May 10, 1697: Thomas Hucklescott, about 37 years old, said he and his wife Mary, age 30 witnessed the signing of the will of John Wagganer on Feb 21, 1696/7. (Essex Co, VA Deed and Will Bk 1695-1699, p96)

It wasn't Salvator Muscoe Sr. who md Mary Hucklescott-it was Salvator Jr. She was the widow of Thomas Hucklescott who died (will proved Aug. 11, 1701, Essex County, VA). Index to Marriages of Old Rappahannock & Essex Cos. has unfortunately caused people to assume that it was her daughter, Mary Hucklescott who md Salvatore Muscoe, however, it was the mother.

1701/2 The last Will & Testamt. of Elizabeth Browne was prov'd by the oathes of Mary Muscoe, formerly Mary Hucklescott, and Frances Byrom, formerly Frances Mills, witnesses thereto and is ordered to be recorded (Found in Court Orders, Essex Co., 1699-1702, Sparacio).
