P227 - Call Court at Russell Courthouse, August 14, 1795, for the examination of Thomas Hunt on suspicion that he feloniously took and robbed Ann Jackson of Sundry cloathes on the highway of the value of 2 dollars and likewise an infant to the great danger of its life.

James Monroe, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, To all To whom these presents shall come,Greeting: Know ye That by virtue of part of a Land Office Treasury Warrant Number 2,534 issued the 12th September, 1798, there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Thomas HUNT, a certain tract or parcel of Land containing 200 acres by survey bearing date 20th day of November one thousand and seven hundred and Ninety-eight, lying and being in the County of Russell the waters of Clinch River and bounded as followeth, To wit, BEGINNING at three oaks corner to James Osburn and John Marshall and with Marshall's line North seventeen degrees East sixty seven poles to a large white oak, North sixty two degrees West twelve poles to a white walnut, corner to James Wharton's land with his line North sixty nine degrees East two hundred and twenty poles to a stake and forked white oak corner to Frederick Fraley's line and with said line South fifty degrees East one hundred and eighty eight poles to a walnut on the side of a ridge South eighty five degrees West two hundred poles to two white oaks at the foot of a ridge South seventy four degrees West one hundred and forty nine poles to a black oak and white oak corner to James Osburn and with his line North twenty six degrees West one hundred poles to the beginning. With its appurtenances to Have and to Hold said tract or parcel of land; with its appurtenances to the said Thomas Hunt and his Heirs forever.
In Witness thereof the said James Monroe Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereto, set his hand and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond, on the eighteenth day of December, in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred, and of the Commonwealth the Twenty-fifth.
