Thomas Jones, Sr. was born about 1644, in Charlestown, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America as the son of William Jones and Margaret Floude. He married Sarah Jane Crouch in 1669, in Charlestown, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America. He died on 28 November 1679, in his hometown, at the age of 35.
During the ten years he was married to Sarah Crouch he had five children: Sarah, Mary, Thomas II, William and David. By trade he was a bricklayer.
