• p, 159 from the Cha. 1661-3 "Thomas Lower and his father Humphrey came of an ancient famili 'seated in Saint Winoow parish and a t Clifton in Landoulph'. Thomas was at this time a widower, having recently lost his wife Elizabeth, the eldest daughter of Sir John Trelawney, first Baronet. He was a nephew of Loveday Hambly, and lived at her home."
