Thomas Morton Ross Sr. was probably the second son born to Joseph Harve Ross and Nancy William Ross abt. 1785 according to millenium records. Other census data regarding the date of his birth varies. He was born in Virginia (present day Nelson Co., KY). Thomas Ross married Elizabeth Ashby Dec. 29, 1802 and it appears that they had about 12 children. Thomas Ross served in the War of 1812 in Captain Gregg's Co., KY militia. 1810, 1820, and 1830 census records have been found for him, but it appears that he died some time after 1830 as his wife Elizabeth is found on the 1840 census in Ohio, KY with the family.
