About Thomas Taylor, Planter of Henrico

Biography

Thomas Taylor, Planter of Henrico was born in 1678 in Wicomico Parish, Lancaster, Virginia, United States. His parents were John Taylor, III and Ann Taylor.

Thomas married Elizabeth Taylor circa 1707 in Westmoreland Co., VA. Together they had the following children: Elizabeth Perkins; Sarah Rachael Moseley Bondurant; Mary Taylor.

He not being the oldest son made the decision to move to Manakin Town, Henrico County to build his plantation and grow tobacco and continue to prosper as the Taylor family had over the years. He did very well, but the marriage didn't produce sons, at his death his estate was sold and divided between his three-surviving daughters. One was married to Elizabeth, so her estate went to her husband. Sarah's share went to her dowry when she married Robert Ligon Moseley, I. As far as Mary Taylor, additional research is needed to trace her.

Thomas Taylor died circa 1724 in Henrico County, VA.
