According to Kaaron de Vere, "for Major Thomas Weir, there has never been any proof found so far of a son named Thomas. His only legitimate son was Alexander, any others were bastards."

(father: William Weir, farmer) to Mary Robison, full age, spinster, of Killyman (father: James Robison, farmer) on May 5, 1855, in Second Presbyterian Church, Cookstown.
