Thomas Whitbread, of White Notley

Thomas Whitbred, the son of Christopher Whitbred and Maude French had two sons named Thomas, both by his first wife Dennys Burles (als Sponer). The first was baptised in September 1541 and buried in October 1541 at White Notley, Essex. The second was baptised in 1543 at White Notley. Both are recorded in the Register of the parish Church. The second Thomas is recorded as married to Elizabeth White. They had a son William, baptised 1570 (Church Register)

Their father, Thomas Whitbred, died in 1599 (White Notley Register)

Christopher Whitbread is described as 'of Fambridge'. He died in 1543 (White Notley Register). Maude French is described as having been 'of Stebbing'. She died in 1554 (White Notley Register).

Biography

Thomas Whitbread of Whighten Ottley (White Ottley) was born about 1520, he wrote his will 28 January 1599 White Notley, Essex, England. He is the son of Christopher Whitbread (born abt 1497- ) and Maude Frenche (born abt 1500- ). Thomas was married twice, his first wife was Dennis daughter of William Birle, they had three children: Thomas, Clement and Grace. Thomas married second, Agnes daughter of William Hunt, they had five children: Henry, Mary, Ellen, Agnes, and John.[1]

John Whitbread, born abt 1554, of Writtell in Essex, will dated 3 March 1624, married Janne Vaughan[1] Henry Whitbreade of Whitnottley, born abt 1556, mentioned in brother John's will of 1624, married Eleanor Keyes, they had child: William[1] Mary Whitbreade, born abt 1558, died before 1624 married Richard Everard of Blacknottley[1] Agnes Whitbread, born abt 1560, mentioned in brother John's will of 1624, married Henry Wright of Whitnothy [1] Ellen Whitbread, born abt 1562, o.b.s.p.[1]
