About Thomas Whitson
Served as Captain in the 2nd Rowan Co regiment (1776-7) and the Burke Co Regiment (1777-1781). He fought in the Battle of Eutaw Springs SC under Col Francois DeMeldemy. This battle, the last in the south, was instrumental in keeping reinforcements from reaching Cornwallis at Yorktown leading to his surrender.
