Hi David,
I found some information about Terry's maternal grandparents that should be added to the tree.
Terry's grandfather (Bertha's father) was known as Benny Teller, and the grandmother was Tilly Haffner. I never could find records of Benny.
Finally, I managed to find a marriage certificate. Lo and behold, it was for the marriage of 'Benjamen Taylor" and "Tilley Hafner." They married in Manhattan 4/26/17, I believe. He was 36 and she was 25. He was a glazier. They were both from "Oushnice" (Vishnitz? Terry's Aunt Bess thought the name of the family town was something like "Wilkowice.") and both had been married before and both were said to be widowed.
His father's name was Meier (or Mayer), and his mother was Yetta Mittleman. His parents were from "Russia." He died 12/20/1922. His death certificate had him as Bennie Taylor and his work as peddler. He died due to an accident, which was the family lore.
I think he was born around 1877 and arrived in the US 2/5/1892 on the Veendam with a fellow named Cytryn, which is interesting because the Augenbraun family doctor for years was Dr Citrin.
Tilly was the daughter of Morris (or Moses) Hassler, and her mother was Leah (or Toba) Speiser. Tillie Teller died 3/25/1931. Her parents were both from "Austria." She reportedly died after surgery.
In any case, I don't think Bertha's father was Yechezkel.
Thanks,
Hedy
