About Timothy Ezell, Sr.
Son of George Ezell, Sr. and Elizabeth Clarke. Husband of Mary Bradenton.
DEATH 1759
Cooper by trade (maker of wooden barrels, buckets, bowls, etc.)
Notes
Timothy's will is on record, dated 1759, in Parish of Ablemarle, Sussex Co, VA. A deed transferring land to son Thomas Ezell is recorded in Deed Book A, p.9. (s: Harwell)
Timothy's will (1759) states that he lived in Albemarle Parish, Sussex Co, VA. He gave away many tracts of land to his children before he made his will. He gave George (1738) 210 acres on the "branch of Poplar Swamp, known as Lightwood Branch" in Sussex Co, VA, and "to my son Thomas all my Cooper's tools."
Thus, he and his son Thomas followed the cooper's trade and made wooden barrels, bowls, buckets, etc. For a man who could not sign his name, Timothy must have been a good businessman to have such a large amount of land and etc.
