Titus was born in Towamencin Township the son of Benjamin W. and Sallie Landis (Custer) Lare. He was the widower of Catherine (Haley) Lare. He was a retired professional firefighter. He worked 38 years for the Hancock Fire Co., Norristown, PA. He was a life member of the Montgomery Hose Co., Norris Hose Co., Norristown and Local No. 2335, Professional Firefighters Union, all of Norristown; and the Worcester Historical Society. Titus was an honorary charter member of the Farmers' Union Company for the Recovery of Stolen Horses, Fairview Village. He attended the Norristown Schwenkfelder Church. Surviving are two daughters, Helen Mageeney of Norristown and Mary Walker of Worcester; three sons Benjamin and Raymond both of Norristown and John "Jake" at home; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sarah Brown of Norristown and Mary Whartenby of Lansdale; and a brother, Wilmer of Lititz.
