Toh Nam Chin (甄斗南)

Fond memory of my father is that he was a quiet gentleman, always keen to help others, especially fellow clan members. In my growing up years I never recall him ever loosing his temper. The small town where we called home for many years was Klang, in East Malaysia, some 15 miles from Kuala Lumpur. Father was a Chinese high school teacher, well regarded by his students. He was equally at ease with the "arts" side as well as the "science" stream, especially with maths. For many years he was involved with the local Cantonese Associations (much like the Gin Family Association in San Francisco). Interestingly he was quite good in Chinese Chess and in his retirement he devoted time to develop the chess skills of the young ones who visited to the Chinese Association.
