John Andrew Bathurst Kerr served with the Camel Corps during World War I. He was killed in action at Sheikh Abbas Ridge on 19 April 1917 during the Second Battle of Gaza. John is remembered on he Gate Pā World War I memorial in Tauranga which lists nine soldiers from Gate Pā who lost their lives in World War I.
