The late Tun Ismail Ali was formerly the first Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia and Chairman of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB). He married Toh Puan Maimunah bt Abdul Latiff and had two sons, Iskandar and Kamal. Toh Puan Maimunah was the daughter of Dr Abdul Latiff bin Abdul Razak, the first Malay doctor in Malaya.
