Hjermstad, Ulrik Carl Severin (Rev.) - son of Hans H. Hjermstad and Marie Larsen Gronstad Nottestad. Ulrik was born on June 14, 1840 in Stange Township, Hedmark County, Norway. He was married in 1864 to Georgine Christine Kolstad. Ulrik attended the Asker Norm. School, 1865 60 and taught school in Christiania, 1860 64 and in Ottestad, 1864 67. Ulrik emigrated in 1867. He was the precenter and teacher at the Red Wing, Minnesota parochial school from 1867 77. Ulrik attended Luther Seminary, 1878 80 (C.T.). He was pastor at Chippewa Falls, Minnesota, 1880 83; Eau Claire, Wisconsin, 1883 86; and Half Way Creek, Wisconsin, 1886 1903. Ulrik was the manager and pastor for the Old People's Home in Stoughton, Wisconsin, 1904 07. He died on October 6, 1908. Georgine died on September 24, 1915 at the home of her son Christian in Fountain Township in Juneau County at the age of 74. She was buried in North LaCrosse (Mauston Star, Sep 30, 1915, p. 1).
