About “Unami Princess” Ann Luker, Turtle Clan
Grandmother Ann was a princess daughter to a Unami tribal chief and a descendant of a people who had recorded their voyage to America six hundred years before the birth of Jesus Christ. The words of one of these early voyagers makes a good introduction to "Luker's American Legacy."
It was over 300 years ago that the Luker blood line mixed with the American Indian. It was from the love and marriage of Thomas Luker and Princess Ann, and the birth of a baby boy by the name of Daniel Luker, that the blood of two nations became as one for thousands of future descendants.
Notes: The Unami people are one of the three main divisions of the Lenape Nation. The Unami language is a Delaware language within the Algonquian language family.
