About Valentine Foos
Valentine Foos (of Swiss descent) was a surveyor during the War of 1812. He was among first settlers of Franklinton (now Columbus, Ohio) and helped to plat Lucas Sullivants community (Franklinton) on the west bank of Scioto River. A cousin, Jacob Foos, also a surveyor is credited with digging Jacob's Well, a fresh water spring well in what is now Marion Ohio.
