  • VOLUME 14 PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE Genealogists seek who we are, and where we are from. But, they also need to know where they are going next. Our Chapter must ask these questions too. We celebrate a quarter century this spring. Twenty-five years ago a major aim of our Chapter was to collect and pre- serve the history of the early settlers of Ashland County and making it avail- able to interested persons. This boils down to reference materials, their housing and communication with you. We have collected well, and are proud of our relationship with the Ashland Public Library in the housing of our collection of books and family informa- tion. Our Pastfinder communicates our information to you, and the queries allows you to seek help. The published township finding aids are available for half of the county's townships. Our other books of obits and reprints are helpful to the research- er and historian. Our latest is a reprint of the 1915 commemorative history ASHLAND: THE CITY OF PROGRESS AND PROSPERITY 1815-1915 by William A. Duff. May 1995 bring you all that you seek and enable us as a Chapter to explore where we go from here! The future looks bright and promising for us both!
