Vartan (Peter) Barton

I never met my Grandfather as he had died long before I was born. I heard a little about him from my Father, Victor, Azard, Barton. This is what I was told: he came to America to avoid persecution at a young age. When he was about eight years old he worked as an apprentice with his brother in a chemical company in Stoneham MA washing out chemical beakers. He stayed at the chemical company and eventually worked his way up to become a chemist. He also worked for a chemical company in Charleston Ma, He met my grandmother through a "marriage maker". He bought a commercial building in Stoneham MA where he and my grandmother raised their family of five boys in the second floor apartment and my grandmother ran a grocery store on the street level. Later they moved to a home in Medford Ma. I believe I was told he died of cancer but I could be mistaken about that. -Donise Barton McGinn
