Vern Allen Maxson 59, of Hendersonville, TN, formerly of Plainfield, Bloomington, and Indianapolis, IN, died Sunday, September 18, 2005. Mr. Maxson was born September 11, 1946 in Indianapolis. Vern was a 1968 graduate of the University of Indianapolis and faithfully served his country in the United States Army being honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He worked many years in computer systems for several different companies including, American States Insurance, American Fletcher National Bank, and Merchants National Bank, all in Indianapolis, Indiana University-Bloomington, and most recently, HCA Healthcare in Nashville, TN. Mr. Maxson was a member of the Monon Historical Technical Society, and when he resided in Plainfield, he was a member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church. Vern also volunteered with Greyhound Pets of America in Nashville and for Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Maxson is survived by his wife, Judi Maxson of Hendersonville, TN, daughter, Virginia Maxson of Bloomington, Il, son, Michael Maxson and his wife, Maria Carrasquillo of Bloomington, IN, brother, Walter Maxson of Whitestown, IN, sister, Laura Swartzendruber of Kokomo, IN, sister, Ruth Maxson, MD, of Zionsville, IN and his parents, Dr. Roy and Rebecca Wheeler Maxson of Whitestown, IN. A service celebrating his life and faith will be 11 a.m., Thursday, September 22, 2005 at Zionsville United Methodist Church, 9644 Whitestown Rd., Zionsville, Rev. Ted Blosser officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center, 105 W. Pine St., Zionsville and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial, with military rites, will follow the service in the chapel at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Maxson may be made to the American Red Cross.
